Brazil 3-0 South Korea: Philippe Coutinho scores free-kick to end five-game winless streak

Brazil returned to triumphant form after a five-game winless streak on Tuesday with the recalled Philippe Coutinho starring in a 3-0 win over South Korea.

In front of a sparse crowd in Abu Dhabi, Lucas Paqueta put Brazil 1-0 up in the ninth minute when he headed home from close range after excellent work on the left from Coutinho and Renan Lodi.

Leonardo Bonucci: Juventus defender signs new contract

Leonardo Bonucci has extended his contract with Juventus, tying him to the Italian champions until 2024.

The centre-back is in his second spell at Juventus after initially joining the club from Bari in 2010. He left for AC Milan in 2017 but returned a year later in a swap deal which saw Mattia Caldara go the other way.

Diego Maradona leaves Gimnasia y Esgrima after just two months

Maradona, who took over at the club in September, had said he would only continue if club president Gabriel Pellegrino stayed in his role following club elections.

Footballer Reece Welsh wins over £150,000 after landmark injury claim

Footballer Reece Welsh has won more than £150,000 in a landmark injury claim case that could lead to more football players claiming damages for getting injured.

A match between Ossett Town and Radcliffe Borough in the Northern Premier League had to be abandoned in April 2015 after Welsh suffered a badly broken ankle following a tackle from Ossett's Sam Akeroyd.

Liverpool's Carabao Cup quarter-final at Aston Villa confirmed

The Carabao Cup quarter-final tie between Aston Villa and Liverpool has been confirmed for Tuesday, December 17 (kick-off 7.45pm) as originally scheduled.

Antigraft activists prepare another legal challenge to KPK law

Govt to build 4,000 km of toll roads, national roads in next five years

The government plans to build more than 5,000 kilometers of new roads in the next five years to improve connectivity to seaports, industrial zones, tourist destinations and isolated areas.

Deputy Public Works and Housing Minister Wempi Wetipo said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the new roads would comprise 1,500 km of toll roads and 2,509 km of national roads in many parts of the country. In addition to new roads, the government will also build elevated bridges or overpasses with a total length of 60 km, he said.
